SSJs release statement on U.S. withdrawal from Paris Climate Agreement

On November 4, 2019, the United States formally announced to the United Nations that it has begun the year-long process of withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement—the agreement that brought together almost 200 nations to address climate change through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, adaptation efforts, and climate finance. As the world’s second-largest emitter of greenhouse gas emissions, exiting the Paris Agreement is an abdication of our moral responsibility to address climate change and protect vulnerable peoples.

The Sisters of St. Joseph have released a Corporate Voice statement (below) about this troubling decision.

Please call your Senators and Representative at (202) 224-3121 and urge them to publicly oppose the United States’ withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement.  You will need to call this number twice to reach both of your senators and once to reach your representative.

Thank you for making your calls on this very important issue.  We have to care for our common home.  Remember, there is no Planet “B”!
