maxim 70 – read the original

Sharon Urban

God’s timing is the priority.  You will know what you need to at the right time.

It’s still a good idea to turn your assignments in on time.

The Maxims of the Little Institute of the Sisters of St. Joseph were written by our founder, Father Jean-Pierre Médaille, SJ, in the late 1600s as fundamental principles which a person seeking a life with God could follow.

Sister Susan Wilcox, CSJ of Brentwood, NY and a group of her high school students provided the contemporary translations.

Original Maxim 70, as written by Fr. Médaille:

Never be curious regarding the decisions superiors have in mind for you, but await them all from God’s hand, and desire this knowledge only at his appointed time without overeagerness to be informed sooner.
