Sister Elizabeth Ann entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1958 from Blessed Sacrament Parish in Erie and professed her final vows in August, 1966. She graduated from Villa Maria Academy in 1957. She then received a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Villa Maria College and an M.B.A. (Masters in Business Administration) from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. She took further courses at Marywood College in Scranton, PA, and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She also held a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license in the State of Pennsylvania.
Sr. Elizabeth Ann has ministered in both education and in accounting. She also has worked in accounting at the Barber National Institute in Erie, PA. Preceding that, Sister served in a number of accounting capacities at Saint Mary’s Home of Erie and Spencer Hospital in Meadville. She was an Assistant Professor at Villa Maria College and Mercyhurst College. From 1958 until 1972, she taught at a number of schools including Erie schools: Saint Andrew, Holy Rosary, Villa Elementary, and Saint Joseph; and outside of Erie: Holy Rosary, Johnsonburg and St. Francis, Clearfield. Sister was both teacher and principal at Saint Bernard School in Bradford, PA. Prior to entering community, Sister worked as a legal secretary for Dana Sherwood Jones, Esq., and at Knox, Weber, Pearson and McLaughlin. When she is not working, Sr. Elizabeth Ann enjoys watercolor painting, photography, and playing classical music on the piano.
