International Spirituality Centre – LePuy, France

Josette Gocella, SSJ, began serving as an administrator of the new International Centre of the Congregations of St. Joseph. The Centre’s Governing Committee invited Sr. Josette and two other Sisters of St. Joseph to serve on its staff. The International Centre is a collaborative effort of the worldwide Federation of Sisters of St. Joseph and its congregations. It was established in response to a 2002 gathering of 17 SSJs representing more than 14,000 Sisters worldwide. The Centre welcomes Sisters and their lay partners and offers opportunities to understand and interpret the SSJ charism in light of today’s realities, the need for reconciliation and peacemaking, and the hunger for relationships. The Centre is located in LePuy-en-Velay, France, where the Sisters of St. Joseph trace their 17th-century roots. The Centre was officially dedicated on October 15, 2004.
