Congratulations to Sr. Maraget Pellerite, SSJ, who was recently recognized as a 2023 Women Making History by the Mercy Center for Women in Erie, PA. This year marked the 30th anniversary of the annual Women Making History event which was held at Mercyhurst University.   

This event honors local women who are worthy of recognition for the sometimes quiet achievements they’re making. They are nominated by colleagues, friends, and family. This year, 16 women were honored.  They all serve as inspirations to the women in the Mercy Center for Women program and all women.

“The women and children we serve at the Mercy Center are individuals fleeing domestic violence, homelessness, and addiction,” said Jennie Haggerty, Exec. Director MCW. “These awards are to inspire them to know that their journey will be successful and that they can mirror the very image of these women that we are recognizing this evening.”
