Kathleen Kirsch, SSJ, formerly Sister Mary Leo, entered the Sisters of St. Joseph from Holy Rosary parish in Erie. She currently ministers with the Sisters of St. Joseph prayer call ministry. Sister Kathleen served as a volunteer at Saint Vincent Health Center from 2004 through 2014. Her earlier ministries included teaching at Villa Maria Academy, St. Agatha High School, Meadville and St. Francis High School, Clearfield. She was a Caseworker for Catholic Charities in Erie as well as an Area Supervisor for Catholic Charities in Dubois. She was a counselor at the Saint Vincent Community Mental Health Center and a Team Leader in Home Care at Saint Vincent Health Center. She also served as an Immigration Counselor at the International Institute in Erie. She also served her congregation as a councilor for personnel. Sister Kathleen earned a BA Degree in Latin from Villa Maria College and a MSW in Social Work from Catholic University. She finds comfort and hope in Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepherd…and she especially likes to say the prayer before Communion: Keep me always faithful to your teaching and never let me be parted from you.
