Margaret Pellerite, SSJ, formerly Sister Anthony Marie, entered the Sisters of St. Joseph from St. Francis parish in Clearfield, PA. Sister Margaret currently ministers in Campus Ministry at Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage, where she also served as a teacher from 1967 – 2016. She continues to head the Action Club, a school service organization. Sister Margaret also served on the board of John XXIII Home in Hermitage. A life-long educator, Sister Margaret also taught at St. Francis, Clearfield, Blessed Sacrament, Sacred Heart, and Our Lady’s Christian Schools. Sister Margaret was recognized by the Diocese of Erie for serving 50 years in the ministry of education and, in 2015, she was recognized for her contributions to Kennedy Catholic. Just this year, she was also honored as a Hometown Hero by WKBN-TV in Youngstown. Sister Margaret earned a BS in Elementary Education from Villa Maria College, Erie and studied at numerous other colleges/universities through national Science Foundation grants. A favorite scripture passage is from Micah 6: “This is what God requires of you, only this, to act justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God.” Sister Margaret considers this a guide of how to live her life.
